Ross Novie has worked in Los Angeles in a variety of capacities for twenty years, but is loathe to use the word “hyphenate” because that sounds like someone’s trying too hard.

Mr. Novie created, executive-produced and directed all six episodes of the innovative comedy series “Secret Girlfriend” for Comedy Central, based on the internet hit that ran for over one hundred online episodes. He also co-executive-produced the comedy pilot “Me and Roland” for TBS. Mr. Novie has also sold comedy pitches to MTV, Fox, and Warner Horizon with his writing/producing partner, Jay Rondot.

Mr. Novie has also written, directed and produced hours of content for the internet, including series for Sony’s “Crackle,” FremantleMedia’s “Atomic Wedgie,” Break.com and Turner’s “Superdeluxe” sites, as well as numerous commercials, film trailers, and industrials. In 2008 he was nominated for a “Webby” award for a set of comedic voter registration PSA’s that starred Rosario Dawson and Wilmer Valderrama for the non-profit group, “Voto Latino.”

As a First Assistant Director, he worked on some of the best television comedies including “Arrested Development,” “The Office,” “Entourage,” “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “Happy Endings,” “Monk,” “Hello Ladies,” “Childrens Hospital,” and “Even Stevens.”

Mr. Novie spent a month in February, 2010 in Abuja, Nigeria teaching local filmmakers directing and producing for the New York Film Academy. He has also given lectures about filmmaking at UCLA, USC, the Los Angeles Film School, and the Writer’s Guild Showrunner Program.

Mr. Novie also created the film scheduling program now known as “Showbiz Scheduling” in 2003.
